EQUIPMENT EXPANSION AT HENDRICK SCREEN

Shortens Lead Times and Improves Quality

Hendrick Screen is proud to announce the addition of several pieces of new and acquired manufacturing equipment at their Owensboro, Kentucky facility.  This equipment is part of an ongoing, continuous improvement effort to advance capabilities, quality, efficiency and delivery. “The added machines will allow us to significantly decrease lead times, which is of prime importance to our customers,” said Bob McDole, General Manager.

New equipment:

OMAX 120X Series JetMachining® Center

The addition of the world-class OMAX 120X not only improves quality and efficiency, but it also increases our capabilities – allowing us to manufacture more complex geometric shapes. This waterjet is fast, and it’s one of the largest ones in the industry, with a 20’ x 12’ working envelope. The larger bed gives us the ability to cut dimensionally oversized products or complete multiple setups at one time.

Victory Plasma Ultra-Cut 200XT

The new Victory Plasma System is our primary heavy gauge plate cutting machine. It processes even faster than the OMAX 120X, with similar accuracy and cut quality.  The addition of the Victory Plasma has freed up capacity on the waterjet, improving lead time and efficiencies, while maintaining current quality levels.

Apex Machine 2052M-DSSD

The Apex 2052M does it all – it deburrs plasma cuts, cleans and softens edges, and creates a matte finish for our screens. We use this machine daily and it has shaved hours off the fabrication and finishing processes. The incorporation of this equipment has sped up fabrication time, while enabling us to deliver an improved finish quality at a lower cost.

Newly acquired equipment:

TRUMPF TrumaBend V 320

The installation and commission of the TRUMPF TrumaBend V 320 press brake has increased the fabrication capabilities of the plant considerably. Hendrick Screen has vertically integrated the building of several component parts, such as custom angle, custom channel, bent banding, diverter cones and sieve boxes. By manufacturing more components in house that were historically completed by a third party, we can provide improved quality, lower costs and faster delivery to our customers.

CINCINNATI 2CC12 Shear

The CINCINNATI 2CC12 Shear offers improved speed when processing any large, light gauge metal sheets with square cuts. The equipment was purchased to improve the cutting speed on larger gauge plate. Hendrick uses the 2CC12 Shear for cutting components on water intake, fish diversion, and architectural products, as well as several of the industrial parts. The increased speed allows for us to keep costs lower and offer us an alternative cutting option in addition to the waterjet, eliminating potential manufacturing bottlenecks.

All of the machines installed at Hendrick Screen in Owensboro, KY have been procured for a singular purpose – to deliver top quality products to our customers as quickly as possible. Hendrick’s culture of investment and expansion is one of the leading reasons for its success and longevity – proudly serving our customers for over 145 years and counting.
